Thank you for considering Heather Gappi Photography for such an important moment in your life! With a vintage and whimsical style we're a bit different that most newborn photographers. We stylize compositions artistically and photograph your little one authentically. The images will garner an incredible sense of variety and beauty. The most important thing to us is that you receive amazing images that capture such a beautiful stage in life, and that you have a lovely experience in our studio! You are not required to bring anything besides your little bundle of joy! We provide all of the clothing, wraps, props, bonnets, and head bands. We aim to photograph your baby between 6-12 days old, but we are able to accommodate for older babies. We work hard to make sure we can welcome every newborn into the studio, but we do have limited availability. Therefore it is important to schedule your session as early as possible! Once you know your due date please contact us so we can get you on the schedule! We have created a Preparation Guide to answer any additional questions you may have before your session.

 
 

  • Newborn sessions are relaxed, baby-led, and fully guided, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and snuggles whenever needed.

    Session length depends on the collection you choose:

    Pearl: Up to 60 minutes
    Diamond: Up to 90 minutes
    Platinum: Up to 2 hours

    Your baby's comfort and safety always come first, and we'll move through the session at their pace.

    All collections include access to our newborn wardrobe, wraps, accessories and props, professional hand retouching, and a personal print release.

  • We absolutely love including parents and siblings into the photographs. Heather always encourages parents to get in the photographs because it is such an important memory for you to have. We do have a Preparation Guide to help with appropriate clothing and makeup if you’d like more information please contact us!

  • Your session comes with high-resolution digital images sent to you via online gallery. After your session you will view your gallery and choose your images in studio. From there we will edit your images and you should receive your gallery within 3-4 weeks. We hope you love all the images, so the additional images are available for purchase! You do have complete printing rights to your images.

  • Newborn skin is one of the biggest concerns that we hear from new parents. Babies often come into this world with eczema, dry skin, acne, bruises, jaundice, or sometimes all of the above! Aside from the 1- 2 hours of artistically posing and photographing your newborn, I dedicate many hours afterwards in carefully retouching your precious baby’s skin. I try my best for the final result to have a beautiful, glowing, blemish-free newborn!

  • We do work closely with an amazing printing lab to provide our clients with professional printed products! We offer everything from wallets, photograph prints, to canvases. Once you’ve selected your images you will also be able to order printed products from your online gallery! We also offer custom albums, which can be ordered in person.

  • To help your newborn session go as smoothly as possible, here are a few simple tips:

    • Newborn sessions are ideally photographed within the first 2–3 weeks after birth, when babies tend to be sleepier and naturally curl into those sweet newborn poses.

    • Babies arrive on their own schedule! If your little one comes earlier or later than expected, simply keep us updated and we'll adjust your session date as needed.

    • Feed your baby as you normally would before your session. Please bring extra formula or breast milk if bottle-feeding.

    • Please bring a pacifier, even if baby doesn't regularly use one. It can be helpful for soothing during posing and transitions.

    • Dress baby in loose, easy-to-remove clothing and avoid anything that needs to be pulled over their head.

    • Don't worry about bringing outfits, wraps or accessories — we have everything needed for baby's session ready at the studio.

    Most importantly, don't stress if baby needs to eat, be changed, or simply needs a little extra snuggle time. We follow baby's lead and their comfort and safety always come first.

  • We totally understand that life happens and sometimes we run late. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your session that time will be subtracted from your session. If you are more than 30 minutes late your session will be canceled and we will have to reschedule. You will loose your deposit.
